Bells Across America

Bells Across America is an annual collaborative effort between U.S. military installations around the world and the Navy Gold Star Program recognizing military service members who died while on active duty.

The ceremony is held near the last Sunday in September in association with Gold Star Mother's and Families Day.

Thirty-Six names of service members from Bay County, Northwest Florida, and lower Alabama were provided by Gold Star families.

Afterwards, the bell was tolled four times in remembrance of those whose names were not listed and concluded with the playing of Taps.
