Orphaned albino elephant calf, Khanyisa’s First Visit to the Dam With the Herd!

We captured this clip before Khanyisa’s first swim in the dam. While we’ve shared that milestone with you already, we had to share this one too — the first day she went to the dam with her herd. On this first visit, she didn’t swim and stayed instead on the side, playing in the mud and sand.

The Jabulani herd all stayed around her and didn’t swim either — they kept to the shore to protect her and enjoyed a drink alongside her. Tokwe, Kumbura and Lundi especially surrounded her, with the others staying close too! Mambo even joined in! All of them obviously aware of this new milestone!

Watch how they all protectively gather around her as she enjoys the muddy shallows! A truly remarkable scene once again of how this herd has so beautifully adopted little Khanyisa!
