RBGT-62

The RGBT-62 radiometer...this one was made in 28th April, 1963...these were made for the military, so it's built like a tank - the body is 2 - 3mm of injection molded aluminium, it's (supposed to be) waterproof to 1m immersion, the probe is made out of alumium as well, it's outer shield has 3 positions - beta1, beta2 and gamma...the shield itself is 4,5mm aluminium with (or without) holes according to the positions, it's covered by heat-shrink tubing...

The insides are the glory of early 60s communist technology, poit-to-point wiring, all the semiconductors are 3 transistors and 3 diodes...the meter is a 50uA type, reads out in CPM*cm^2...
The GM tube is a Soviet-made STS-5, working just below 300V, it's capable of detecting mid to high energy beta and low to mid energy gamma...

The whole thing weighs over 5 pounds (2,45 kg) without the 2 D-cell batteries...
