After defeating the Egg Dragoon, the Resistance sends the Custom Hero to save civilians in Park Avenue! Continuing their search for Modern Sonic, Tails and Classic Sonic search through Casino Forest, and meet up with Buddy as he's sliding down Aqua Road and discovering what seems to be a Phantom Ruby... Leading back to the resistance, the whole gang meets up, but word is Shadow's attacking the city, so Sonic chases after him in Sunset Heights to discover it was a fake and the real Shadow the Hedgehog elaborates its because of Infinite & the Phantom Ruby's power, allowing an endless supply of replicas! The rookie is then assigned by Knuckles, a la Operation Big Wave, to attack in Capital City, but the operation collapses and forces the resistance to retreat, up until Infinite cross paths with our custom hero once again...
