A legendary surgeon and scientist, Nikolay Pirogov's body was embalmed in 1881 using a unique method that has preserved it to this day—without the need for constant maintenance, unlike Lenin’s body, which lies in a mausoleum on Red Square in Moscow.
Pirogov’s resting place is in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, where his remarkably preserved body can still be seen. It stands not only as a historical phenomenon but also as a testament to his scientific legacy.
