At least 25 civilians killed in formerly Russian-occupied Chernihiv, Ukraine

THERE have been urgent calls to investigate allegations of war crimes in formerly Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine, after shocking images emerged of civilians being killed.

Regional authorities say at least 25 civilians, including six children, have been killed in attacks on cars trying to escape Chernihiv, or attacked in public spaces, since the start of the conflict.

Images filmed by a Ukrainian drone in the kyiv region showed the killing of a man who got out of his car with his hands up. His wife was shot inside the car.

In the Kherson region, a family of five was killed by Russian soldiers at a checkpoint, according to relatives.

Also, a pumping station on the outskirts of the city was attacked on March 14.
