MINI Cooper S R53 Bypass Valve Repair 2002-2006 BPV

Get the bypass valve here: http://amzn.to/2mDbFoi - Step by step mechanic's eye view of diagnosing/replacing a bad supercharger cutoff valve on a first generation MINI Cooper S. A bad cutoff valve (BPV) can cause loss of power and in some cases OBD codes such as P1689, P0301 and P1237. Loss of power most apparent around 2800-3000RPM as the engine transitions from non-boost to boost operation, then power comes back as you go to full throttle.

P1689: Electronic Throttle Control Monitor Level 2/3 Torque Calculation Error
P1237: Secondary upstream manifold air pressure sensor low input
P0301: Cylinder 1 Misfire
