How Interior Design Creates a Company Culture

DPR Construction needed a new location for its Pasadena office to accommodate future growth and provide spaces for the company’s collaborative and social culture. With the goal to create a flexible and functional space, LPA interacted with DPR as both the client and general contractor of the project.

Principal Rick D'Amato and Associate Terri Lee share their approach to the interior design process and how they overcame challenges to create a unique, collaborative work environment for DPR Construction employees.

The location is a third level approximately 8,000-square-foot property previously used as a restaurant in downtown Pasadena. Designers pulled inspiration from the Old Town urban environment with weathered brick facades, paned operable windows and detailed storefront trims to explore an urban loft concept.
