How To WASH Your DIY Tailored Clothes | Do's And DON'TS

In this video I'm going to show you how to properly wash your diy tailored clothes. You worked SO HARD to get the fit that you want that the last thing that you want to happen is for them to get all faded on you right?

First thing you want to do is avoid washing them a lot. I made this mistake in the beginning and I regret it. Your clothes don't get as dirty as you might think that they do. If you're anything like me you don't do anything too strenuous so avoid washing your clothes so much!

Next, you have to make sure you use the right detergents! I used to think that I could use any old run of the mill detergent and it would work fine, but it doesn't work that way. You want to use something with a color guard like Cheer color guard or Woolite. It has special properties that keep your colors looking nice! You also want to pair that witlth a color catcher sheet that will catch any of the other dyes that flake off in the wash water.

Lastly you want to make sure to avoid the dryer if you can! The dryer is great at well...drying your clothes but it wreaks havoc on your colors. Hang dry your clothes if you can. I get it, you might not have space but you have to make due with what you can.
