The Qur’an supposedly originated in Mecca. In the last episode, Al Fadi and Dr. Jay discussed how Mecca could not possibly have birthed the Qur’an because it was far too isolated and supported very few people groups. Today they look to the Hejaz region as a whole. This large area was completely illiterate during the time the Qur’an was supposed to have been written. There was no written language here at this time, so how could the Qur’an have come from this Bedouin region?
