Demian by Hermann Hesse | BOOK REVIEW
Demian by Hermann Hesse is a very weird book. It feels cursed, but flourishes into something bizarrely profound. This book review contains my theory that it's a story about Hermann Hesse's spiritual awakening, based on it being originally written under the pseudonym Emil Sinclair.

People online say he used a pseudonym to avoid negative criticism he was receiving at the time. I don't believe that — if you're going to write something like a coming of age, epistolary novel under a pseudonym, it's a big sign that anonymity is used because the story is too personal.
A few blips in the editing for this book review, I made it too fast! I'll be more careful next time.
