The Story Of Westlife Part 1
(1998-2008)

THE BEGINNING: Began in 1997, In Sligo, Ireland. Kian, Shane and Mark started a band called "IOYOU." Then got discoverd by Louis Walsh in 1998. Gave them an audition for a new boyband, but out of the 6 boys in IOYOU only Kian, Mark and Shane got through. Then went to Dublin in search for 1 more boy but 2 joined instead: Nicky & Brian. Simon Cowel then gave them a record deal and "WESTLIFE" Was Born!! In 1999, Their first song released and went to #1- "Swear It Again." Later that year their first album "Westlife" released with songs on the album that went to #1- "If I Let You Go", "Flying Without Wings" and another #1 That shared the 4th spot: "I Have A Dream/ Seasons In The Sun."
