Teac A 4300 Auto Reverse Stereo Tape Deck, Restored, Re-Capped, +Transistors. Zcuckoo
This is an Auto Reverse Tape deck and uses the Counter repeat and sensing foil at the end of the outside of the tape. Using these two functions, the tape deck will continue to auto reverse until stopped. This means you can listen to both sides of a tape without flipping the reels. Recording a tape you will still have to flip the reel but this is for recording only.
This deck also uses Reel locks so there is no need for rubber reel holders which is Very nice. Takes Reel sizes up to 7 inches.
Tape heads show Very little head wear. This deck that runs at 3 3/4 and 7.5 Inches per Second and will record and Playback in 4 track stereo, 2 tracks at a time so your prerecorded tapes CAN be played on this machine provided they are either 3 3/4 or 7.5 ips which is the standard for pre-recorded tapes.
I have done a CONSIDERABLE amount of work to this deck as follows;
*All audio path Electrolytic and Tantalum Capacitors have been replaced in this Deck., around 67 caps replaced.
*All bipolar transistors in signal path have been Upgraded with Low Noise Equivalents so the Hiss level is lower than when it was new in 1975. That's 24 transistors on the playback, record, and EQ boards.
*All pots and switches have been cleaned with De-Oxit D5 then After 24 hour dry, De-Oxit Fader lube for Clean control operation.
*New Capstan and Counter belt.
*Pinch Roller Mechanics have been Dis-assembled, Cleaned and Re-lubricated using white lithium grease.
*Capstan motor Lubricated with Synthetic Oil.
*Both Reel motors have been lubricated again with Synthetic Oil.
*Both tension levers were re-lubricated and all guides cleaned in the process.
*All amplifier adjustment pots have been cleaned with De-Oxit so adjustments will stay in place.
*All Playback and Record levels were set using an 7.5ips MRL Calibration tape.
*Speed is accurate on this deck.
*All tape heads and tape path has been cleaned and de-magnetized.
*Tested for Hours working Beautifully !
