Fingers: you can tell by the sound

Got requested by a patron during the summer of 69, so I had to push it back until now. It's a really cool song with a fun bass line to it. Gives the song a great feel, but the horn section also really adds a lot to the track. Kind of gives me chicago vibes if they were reggae. I didn't happen to know who this band was until I saw a video as I was researching on YT live performances that this was the same band that did Red Red Wine. I had no clue.
Overall, pretty easy to hear. I just wanted to find the positioning. I think it's based around frets 5 and 7, instead of open and 2.

I've seen some bad YouTube video quality, but this takes the cake at 240p max.
0:14 - first time goes up, 2nd time does low. That's what I hear on the studio version too, but the octave effect is deceiving
2:11 - very hard to see, but the far right dude is the bassist and it looks like it is somewhere in the middle of the neck, not by the nut
2:17 - fingers, can't tell positioning though
2:47 - Earl's hand is in the middle of the neck. It's a headless bass like as steinberger or hofner
3:18 - confirms fingers. also, plucking hand confirms it is not on the D string, so that confirms the position for me
