Honoring fallen Comstock Fire Chief Ed A. Switalski
Several fire and police agencies, family and friends gathered at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo for a service to honor fallen Comstock Fire Chief Ed Switalski. Wednesday, June 14, Comstock Township Fire Chief Ed Switalski, 55, was struck and killed by vehicle while responding to a crash near mile marker 81 on I-94. Regcognition for Switalski reached across the state. Gov. Rick Snyder ordered U.S. and Michigan flags to be lowered to half-staff Wednesday on all state buildings and within the state Capitol complex to honor Switalski.
