Metro Transit Technicians maintain the mechanical performance of Metro Transit’s fleet of 900 buses that are the backbone of the public transportation system in the Twin Cities. Plus, we offer mechanics positions in other departments: Non-Revenue, Track Maintenance, Light Rail, and for the Northstar train

As a Metro Transit Technician, you use state-of-the-art tools and equipment to determine problems with equipment and make repairs. Metro Transit Technicians work indoors at one of Metro Transit’s garages in the metro area. All work at the garages upholds the highest-level requirements of industry safety.

At Metro Transit, we provide ongoing training and professional development to all our Technicians, and we offer a variety of opportunities to advance their careers.

As a Transit Technician you…
Work indoors year-round.
Work on all vehicles while using hydraulic lifts.
Have first-shift and second-shift options.
Work at one of the five major Metro Transit garages in the metro area.
Can move to other service divisions of Metro Transit.
Work with state-of-the art tools and equipment.
