Urijah Faber is the godfather of the featherweight and bantamweight divisions. The Californian fighter quickly became a star by dominating his opponents with his high level grappling. This lead to him becoming the Gladiator Challenge and King of the Cage bantamweight champion. And then he moved up and became the WEC featherweight champion. Plus, he was very a likeable person. So by the time the UFC introduced the 135 and 145 pounds weight classes, he was the fighter that most people had their eyes on. Although he had many moments with the promotion and was a top bantamweight for them for a long time, he was never able to capture UFC gold. Even after 4 title shots.
