Pleotomus pallens LeConte glowing from Devils' River, Val Verde Co., Texas

An adult male Pleotomus pallens glowing when disturbed. 78F. 10:15pm on September 2, 2016. Observed and collected Ben Pfeiffer (Firefly.org) at 10 miles south of Dolan Falls on Devils River, Texas, near Dry Devils Rapids. Emergence I think triggered by light rainfall the previously day (Sept 1, 2016) followed by steady warmth (78-85F), calm winds, and high humidity that created a "mist" in the air the next early evening. I believe the ground warmed in a very steady fashion, and resulted an atmosphere above ground (80-85% humidity) that triggered the "safe" conditions for emergence. It was also rather dark. This must be a biological trigger for these insects seeking the ideal conditions to emerge.
