'India Doesn't Know China Well Enough, It's A Weakness'
China looks down on India, while India doesn't think big of China. This line sums up the problematic discourse between Delhi and Beijing, argues Prof B R Deepak of Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University. In this chat with SNI on the occasion of China marking 70 years of the founding of the communist republic, Deepak believes no major transformation in the relationship is likely in the near future. He also faults India for not doing enough to study and understand China and contrasts this with the time and effort put in by Chinese universities to research on India.
