CHP Officer Injured After DUI Driver Slams Into Patrol Car | Garden Grove

12.04.2022 | 8:45 PM | GARDEN GROVE - A California Highway Patrol officer was injured in a crash tonight when he was pulled over on the freeway with a vehicle that possibly had mechanic problems.

While the CHP Officer was pulled over, a Chevy Tahoe slammed into the rear of the CHP Unit and also the 2nd car.

The CHP officer was injured and trapped in their vehicle for at least 10 minutes.

Orange County’s Fire Authority Fire Fighters used the Jaws of Life to extract the officer from his vehicle.

The CHP officer was transported to a local area trauma center with unknown injuries.

A female driver of the Tahoe has been arrested for being under the influence.

No other injuries were reported.
