The Steamship Princess Marguerite II ( Maggie ) Makes her Last Landing in Seattle.

It was September 17, 1989.
Seattle Waterfront.
Around 10:00 PM.

Einar, Juli and Paul, all steamship fans, and frequent passengers on the Marguerite are there with Einar's tape recorder and camera.
It is the final voyage with passengers of the Princess Marguerite II which had been on the Seattle to Victoria run since the 1940s.

I brought the tape recorder to record her final whistle, but we were caught by surprise when all the other ships started joining in. It was a spontaneous "flash mob" of steam whistles, with some throaty Washington State Ferries thrown in to the mix.

The amazing thing to me is I LOST my master tape of this, but I had given a copy to my friend Paul, and in 2010 he found it. This recording is a copy of the original, processed a bit to eliminate a LOT of background noise. Someday I will find my master and maybe it will sound even better.
