Vaccine passports could lead to 'segregation of vaccinated from unvaccinated'

Curtin University’s Dr Rocco Loiacono says a push for a vaccine passport could lead to a "segregation" of the vaccinated from the unvaccinated.

The remarks come amid the government's announcement of a digital Medicare vaccination certificate.

"It's already happening in some states in America I mean in New York for example they've actually introduced segregation in the stadiums," he told Sky News host Alan Jones.

"If you're unvaccinated you sit in a certain section of the stadium and if you're vaccinated you sit in another section of the stadium.

"This is the kind of thing that these vaccine passports could lead to.

"You can't go here, you can't have a job, you can't do this or that unless you take this medication."
