James Renn was a national inspiration. A war veteran, a beloved entertainer, and the world's first true superhero, he is mourned by the nation when he passes away at the age of 49. But while most will remember him for his incredible abilities and the battles he won for America, his son Conor lives with completely different memories.

Written by Robbie Silverman and directed by Jackson Miller, “Hero” is a short film that explores the struggle of a son, whose father is the hero of an entire country but not for him.  

The story starts with the funeral of James (Ed Quinn) an American hero loved by millions. Everyone seems devastated except for his son Connor (Robbie Silverman). The media coverage and a condescended environment make him angry, but he never tells the world the true personality of his father. 

At this point in the film, the audience will start questioning James’s actions. Why does his son hate him? While Connor is sleeping, a flashback memory appears of a potent scene in which his father almost kills him. His father wasn’t the same after the war. 

Hero is a 10 minute powerful and refreshing mix between drama and sci-fi in which actors are the key point of the story.
