Now that we've covered some of the basics in Parts 1-4, we can start to talk about different settings on an FFT analyzer (like Rational Acoustics' Smaart v8) that help us with our system measurements. It's important to understand what data banding does BEFORE using it. Once we know its effects on the way the data are presented to us, we'll be able to make informed decisions about which banding mode to use, and when. As the series continues, I'll explain how banding benefits us, how it affects certain measurement types, and how we can use it to get better data.
