The 2019 Strathmore Highland Games with massed bands held at Glamis Castle in Angus, Scotland

With the 2020 Strathmore Highland Games cancelled due to Covid-19, here are some of the highlights from the 2019 Highland Games. These were held at Glamis Castle by Forfar, Angus, on Sunday 9th June 2019 and included displays by the massed pipe bands, quartet competitions and a mace flourish competition on the march by the Drum Majors.

The massed pipe bands of central Scotland parade around the arena during the games, watched by the Chieftain, Simon Patrick, 19th Earl of Strathmore. The bands were led by Drum Majors Michael Binder of Stockbridge Pipe Band, Mike Spain of RAF Central Scotland Pipes & Drums (light blue RAF tartan) and Eve Llewellyn of Camelon & District Pipe Band. Other bands present included Perth & District Pipe Band, Towie & District pipe band, Lochgelly High School Pipe Band, Fraserburgh RBL Pipe Band and the Highlanders, 4 Scots pipes and drums.
