Today is the day, bhabi's dhaba is back! We really wanted to do another cooking video, but since diwali is right around the corner, we figured this time we would make some indian sweets instead! We hope you guys enjoy this one, and let us know if you would like some more sweets and cooking videos!
THE RECIPE:
Kaju Barfi:
Ingredients:
Cashews - 2 cups
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Ghee - 2 tablespoons
Cardamom Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Instructions:
Grind all the cashews until they are a powder like consistency, by running the excess large pieces through a sieve to ensure it is all a smooth consistency. Next, put all sugar into a pan, add 1/2 cup of water, and put on heat, to fully dissolve the sugar into the water. Once the sugar has dissolved, add in the cashew powder mix and turn the heat down low, and stir it frequently to ensure it does not burn to the bottom. Once this starts to get a little thicker, add in the ghee and cardamom powder, and continue to stir. Once this mixture gets thick and hard to stir, remove from heat and put on a plate greased with ghee. Mix it around to cool down and to ensure it does not get hard, and once this has cooled, put onto some greased baking paper and roll out until flat (try to get it into a square shape - this makes the diamonds easier to cut). Put this in the refrigerator, and once hard and cooled, cut into pieces and enjoy!
Coconut Ladoo:
Ingredients:
Condensed Milk - 1 tin
Coconut pieces - just over 1 cup
Instructions:
Heat condensed milk in a pan and stir around, once this starts to get a little thicker, add in bit by bit the coconut to ensure you get the right consistency. Add in as much coconut to your taste, and once you can successfully roll the ladoos into a ball, remove from heat, roll them to your desired size, and then dip them in some extra coconut on the outside (for extra texture) and refrigerate until firm.
