Thick dust covered the Chinese capital Beijing in a yellow and orange hue on Monday morning with visibility at less than 1 kilometer. The city's weather bureau issued a yellow warning for sandstorms, the third-most hazardous level. Weather reports said the sandstorm blew from north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region due to cyclones and strong winds. Meanwhile in Mongolia, authorities said powerful sandstorms in the south had killed 6 people, while at least 80 others were missing. Is the freak weather an effect of global climate change?
