United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will visit Japan and South Korea this week. Blinken and Lloyd Austin are expected to be on a mission to take up issues that they have already touched upon in phone calls with their Japanese and South Korean counterparts. Those include strengthening alliances and the push to denuclearize the DPRK. Blinken will return from Seoul to the United States and join Biden's national security advisor Jake Sullivan for talks in Anchorage with their Chinese counterparts.
