Baby Skunk Part 2 - The Stinkening

For the second year in a row, the mother skunk felt comfortable letting her babies explore the world for the first time in our yard. The babies were learning to walk and following me around as I was working outside. This year there were only two kits and might be the babies of one of the six babies I filmed last year.

The day before this video, a neighborhood cat discovered the baby skunks and spent most of the day following them around. He wasn't trying to hurt them but just trying to figure out what kind of strange kittens these were. You could almost see the question marks flying out of his head.

The next day, Little Pepé here decided to practice his war face on me, probably because he knew I was safe and wouldn't hurt him. These are the behaviors they develop to scare off the cats, dogs and raccoons they may run into - scratching the grass, foot stomping and charging. He was a little too small and too cute to pull it off but practice makes perfect.
