Lake District 1 Walk 3 Grasmere Circular Route 1st May 2018

We had a wonderful time in Grasmere today. Firstly we parked on the layby on the main road and walked into town. After visiting the church and Wordsworth's Grave, we had to have some of the Gingerbread biscuits at Sarah Nelson's! Then it was up to the National Trust Property of Allan Bank, where Wordsworth lived for 2 years ( but he never liked it apparently ). Here we saw Red Squirrels and completed the full Woodland Walk. Next we walked around Grasmere Lake, taking the Coffin Route back, stopped at Dove Cottage and the museum ( another Wordsworth property but not National Trust) before heading back to Grasmere for coffee and treats.
A lovely day and a lovely walk. Enjoy!!
