Episode 35 of Love At First Scent

- Sonar from 27 87 (at the 34:00 minute mark)
- In The Mood For Oud from Juliette Has A Gun (at the 50:30 minute mark)
and the classic scent was
- Lonestar Memories from Tauer Perfumes (at the 41:00 minute mark)

I also looked at the new fragrance discovery box created by Harvey Nichols and The Perfume Society (at the 20:30 minute mark) and the Mugler Aura, Alien and Angel perfume brushes (at the 19:00 minute mark).

Here's the blotter update:

- The Dior remains focussed on the cinnamon-nutmeg-cedar combo, and the lightly musky base has become more prominent. Easily one of the best Dior exclusives we've had for a LONG time. I can't wait to wear it properly on skin.
- The Gucci has given in a tiny bit too much to the power of the shampoo-musks in the drydown, but it remains intriguing. I did actually spray it on myself straight after the video and yes, as one viewer stated, it is relatively fleeting, but nonetheless: an unusual and curious release from a brand that is raising its perfume game.
- Sonar also deserves a long-term skin test, I'd say. The weirdness is carried through to the drydown in very compelling fashion.
- In The Mood For Oud is solid, well-made fare: the leathery-woody-animalic vibe is sustained into the drydown.
- Lonestar Memories is, needless to say, a joy: the birch tar is now a growl behind the gentle optimism of the geranium and the serenity of the amber. Such a gorgeous piece of work.
