Horticultural Services NZ Ltd. - Attitude Awards 2018 Finalist

Tony bought Horticultural Services NZ in 2005. There were already some employees with disabilities working for the business, which was an eye-opener for Tony. Having learned a lot from the experience, he decided to keep employing people with disabilities. He now has 28 employees, 5 of whom identify as disabled. His approach is to focus on the strengths of employees with disabilities and ensure they are in a position that utilises those strengths. He believes his staff with disabilities bring a lot of value and loyalty to the company because of the discrimination they’ve faced in previous jobs and the workforce.
