Dear all,

This is a classic Chinese herbal dessert that widely consumed in Asia or Asian communities. It is a dairy-free, gluten-free and low calorie (as long as you don't add too much sugar!) recipe. It is super-nutritious and hopes you would enjoy it.

There are many variations of this recipe which may have different ingredients. I decided to select three main herbal ingredients that are commonly used for their functions in aiding and improving sleep quality. These three ingredients are Lotus Seeds (莲子), Lily Bulbs (百合) and Longan Fruits (桂圆/龙眼). Another ingredient used is Snow Fungus/Silver Ear Mushroom (雪耳/银耳) which is often added to this dessert. Snow Fungus has recently been gaining a lot of attention in the west for its anti-aging effect. So, if you are interested to add this to your diet, this is a good recipe to start.

Just wondering if you have tried Snow Fungus before? For those who haven't tried it before may find its texture a bit 'weird'. It tends to be quite 'chewy' or if you cook it long enough, it becomes 'gelatin-like'. If you have tried it and love it, please type "LOVE" in the comment box. ----RECIPE------
40g Lotus Seeds 莲子
50g Lily Bulbs 百合
15g Longan Fruits 桂圆(龙眼肉)
A Quarter to Half Snow Fungus 银耳 (雪耳)
Rock sugar (to your liking) 冰糖
A handful of Goji Berries 枸杞子
3 Red Dates (remove the pits and cut into smaller pieces) 红枣
