‘Rate rises must recommence’: Latest inflation rate is the RBA’s ‘last piece in the puzzle’

Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says this week’s inflation rate came in higher than expected, prompting a clear path forward for Australia’s economic future.

According to Mr Greenwood, for most economists, it was the “last piece in the puzzle” about what the Reserve Bank would do with interest rates.

“From those economists, the picture is now clear,” he said.

“Rate rises must recommence.”

However, RBA Governor Michele Bullock refuses to reveal whether this will be the case, instead claiming the bank is still analysing the figures.
