KYTHNOS The Greatness Of Simplicity | GREECE Walking Tour

Kythnos is the island of simplicity and tranquility and once you get to explore it, Kythnos is absolutely enchanting. Kythnos has two important settlements, Messaria also known as Chora, and the village of Dryopida also known as Chorio. Both settlements have small cobbled alleys very narrow for vehicle traffic. There are also smaller coastal settlements such as Kanala, Loutra, Agios Dimitrios. The port of the island is called Merichas and there you will find tourist shops, taverns and cafe-bars.

Kythnos is famous for its wonderful beaches (close to 100) with crystal clear waters and natural shade formed by the tamarisk trees. Most are accessed by dirt roads except for the 3-4 organized beaches that have easy access. The most famous beach of the island is Kolona, ​​where a strip of sand divides the sea and forms two sandy beaches on the same beach.

Kythnos is considered one of the few remaining Cycladic islands that has not been influenced by touristic development, although this has been changing in recent years.

In this morning walk, we will walk in Messaria (Chora), Merichas and Dryopida.
