Joseph H. Thompson

Joseph H. Thompson was built as the Marine Robin, in Chester, Pennsylvania, for the US Maritime Commission, in 1944, for service in World War II. The ship was rebuilt into a lake freighter in 1944-1945. The ship was renamed the Joseph H. Thompson and was owned under the National Steel Corporation. The ship was bought by interlake steamship co. and was rebuilt as a barge. The vessel still sails to this day!
