Halie Loren's Kitchen - Pecan pie!

It's that time of year again! It's the holiday season, which means it's ALSO time for another recipe video! This time, I decided to share my favorite pecan pie recipe, which I make *exactly* once a year for Thanksgiving... Why only once? Well, making pie crust is one of the more laborious and time-consuming cooking processes I attempt, and also, this particular dessert is my kryptonite: it's, for me, possibly THE most irresistible and decadent thing in the world, and I don't need it around too often, beckoning to me from the kitchen and taunting me to eat the entire pie in one sitting. It's delicious and pretty much terrible for you, as all worthwhile desserts are. And you should totally try it at least once. ;)

I made this video the day before Thanksgiving, and because we were going to be hosting such a big group, I made two of the same kind of pie -- so please note that I am DOUBLING the recipe in this tutorial.

Note: this video is MUCH LONGER than my previous cooking videos because I decided to leave in all my totally (non-professional) verbal tips on making the crust and the filling, imperfect as my techniques are... sometimes one just needs a visual AND an audio guide! And since this recipe is so involved, I've also listed the ingredients for the crust and the filling in this description (see below).

INGREDIENT LIST

PIE CRUST DOUGH:
All-purpose flour - 4 cups
Butter (cold) - 2 cups
Salt - 1/2 tsp
1 egg (lightly beaten)
1 tsp vinegar
Cold water (approximately 4 Tbsp - reference video tutorial)

FILLING:
(**note: below ingredients are for 1 PIE! I doubled all of these in the video)
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/3 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
