The site is an access industry type for new energy vehicle manufacturing, adjacent to the Tesla Shanghai Super Factory, and is speculated to be used for another expansion of the Tesla factory. The land is about 7 kilometers away from Tesla's Shanghai factory and is in an industrial zone with Tesla's charging pile factory.
Information shows that the site covers a total area of 461,142.40 square meters and is located in the Lingang Heavy Equipment Industrial Zone of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone, with an investment intensity of no less than 14,925 yuan per square meter. This time Tesla is suspected to strike again, taking the new land use rights, or will further expand production capacity to meet market demand.
According to China's National Comprehensive Three-Dimensional Transportation Network Planning Outline, it is proposed to promote the application of intelligent network-connected vehicles and intelligent general aviation vehicles, which may further stimulate the development of the new energy vehicle market. According to professional research institutes, the growth of new energy vehicles will be as high as 51% this year, which is an important opportunity for Tesla.
