DIY: Wooden Chest Makeover Upcycling

In this video Sepp and Shelley show you how to upcycle a wooden chest, in this case an old tool box, into a useful seat and storage space for the bedroom, living room or patio.

We used:
Power tools: screwdriver, drill, electric saw
Stapel gun
6mm staples
Compressor
2 pieces of wood for the seat frame work (or 4 if necessary)
Hammer
Kitchen knife
4 screws and screw holders to attach the seat
8mm plywood
Fabric scissors
Fabric
Marker pen
4cm foam (RG 25/44)
1cm padding
4 wheels
16 screws to attach the wheels
1m cord

The pieces of wood are attached that a wooden framework which is formed for the plywood seat base. The plywood is sawed to size. Holes are drilled and screw holders hammered firmly into place.

The plywood is placed on top of the foam and with a marker pen draw around the edge. Cut the foam using a kitchen knife or an electric knife. Layout the padding and place the foam, then the plywood on top.

Fix the foam using the stapler. Cut off any excess foam. Place the fabric onto of the seat and fix into place using the stapler. Form a neat pleat at the corners, cutting away any unnecessary fabric.
After completely stapling the fabric onto the base, remove any excess fabric with fabric scissors.

Attach the wheels using the screws to the base of the chest. Attach the seating using the screws to the top...

The Chest is now complete...Well Done!
