Porsche Mission X – 959, Carrera GT, and 918 Spyder of the Future

The low-slung electric coupe-style idea has a lightweight glass-dome top and doors that swing forward like a beetle's wings—though Porsche designers were presumably thinking more of the famed 917 race car when they hung those hinges. The Porsche Mission X... carries on the legacy of famous sports cars from the past. The Mission X, like the 959, Carrera GT, and 918 Spyder before it, offers crucial impetus for the evolutionary development of future car designs.

Amazing LED Lighting:
This isn't a longtail. The Mission X is 177.0 inches long, 78.7 inches wide, and 47.2 inches tall, so it should fit comfortably in your garage. It has a 107.4-inch wheelbase with the Carrera GT and 918. Other racing callouts may be noticed in the design of the headlights, which are long and situated low on the nose. The new lights, unlike the previous ones, are LED modules. During normal operation, just a slender portion is visible, but when the headlights are turned on, the entire module appears.

The concept automobile is finished in Rocket Metallic, a color created just for this vehicle. The car's lightweight structure is highlighted by satin-finished carbon-fiber accents, and Porsche claims its aero parts will generate more downforce than a 911 GT3 RS. Staggered tires—20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels—capture that downforce. Porsche's new crest, which can also be featured on the hood and steering wheel, is located in the middle of the wheels.

In keeping with Porsche's current production vehicle design trend, a full-length light floats across the back of the Mission X, spelling out Porsche in case the newly updated crest threw you off. While charging, the "E" in the Porsche lettering slowly pulses to indicate that something is going on. Porsche hasn't revealed much about the propulsion system because it's a concept, but it's an electric hypercar with a battery put behind the vehicle seats to center the mass and give it mid-engine characteristics.

Ultra Fast Charging
There is no information on the engines, but the Mission X is expected to feature a power-to-weight ratio of about 1 horsepower every 2.2 pounds, as well as a 900-volt system that will let it to charge at double the pace of the Taycan Turbo S—which Porsche claims can charge from 5 to 80 percent in just over 20 minutes.

The driver and passenger seats are different colors in the interior, with the driver's seat melding into the dash's Kalahari Gray as if to indicate the pilot is a part of the car and the passenger's seat comes in Andalusia Brown.

The open-top steering wheel has mode switches and shift paddles, apparently for regenerative braking. The cabin also has lap recorders and a stopwatch module, allowing you to establish your own Nürburgring time. Mercedes currently holds the production-car record, with the Mercedes AMG One setting a lap time of 6:35.18 in 2022.

Porsche quickly declares that the Mission X is simply a design study, but we saw the Mission E become the Taycan, so we have optimism that the Mission X will make its way to showrooms in the future.
