Message from S.Aishwarya below:

"The 611th Jayanti (birth anniversary) of the illustrious poet, musician & saint of Bharat, Tallapaka Annamacharya, is being celebrated in a grand manner by the TTD (Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam) on May 18th 2019

On this sacred day, my sister S.Saundarya and I are offering as a musical tribute, one of the most popular compositions of Annamayya, "Nanati Bathuku Natakamu" which was immortalised by my Great Grandmother Bharat Ratna M.S.Subbulakshmi and my Grandmother Dr.Radha Viswanathan (as part of the Balaji Pancharatnamala in 1980).
"Nanati" was taught to both of them by the legendary musician Sangita Kalanidhi Nedunuri Sri Krishnamurthy (who had also set the tune for the song )

After hearing "Nanati Bathuku" rendered by Nedunuri Garu in Ragam Revathi, an emotional Smt MSS is said to have remarked "Just for this one song, you should be awarded the Sangita Kalanidhi."

I am so grateful to my dear Radha Patti, who inspite of her severe health issues, taught me this Gem of a composition with so much diligence. In a way this rendition by my sister S.Saundarya and myself is also a tribute to my dear Grandmother.

Videography: Sri.Shreedhar Mechri
Recorded at : Prabhat Studios, Bangalore

Ragam: Revathi
Talam: Adi

Pallavi:

nAnATi batuku nATakamu
kAnaka kannati kaivalyamu

Meaning:
The everyday life is but merely a drama. What is seen and yet unseen constitutes the drama. Beyond these stands salvation and liberation from this drama.

CharaNam 1 :

puTTuTayu nizamu pOvuTayu nizamu
naTTa naTimi pani nATakamu
yeTTa neduTagaladI prapaNcamu
kaTTagaTapaTiti kaivalyamu
(naanaaTi)

Meaning :
The two ends are to be born and to be dead. Those are the truths. Whatever we do in between these two ends constitutes the drama which unfolds. We see the universe and the life which is right in front of us but we don't see what is beyond. We don't see the one which is beyond the universe and the time. That is where the salvation is.

ChraNam 2:

tegadu pApamu tIradu puNyamu
nagi nagi kAlamu nATakamu
yeguvane ShRI vEnkaTEShvaru Delika
gaganamu mIthidi kaivalyamu

Meaning : Our sins don't dwindle. Our good deeds don't extend. In between these, we do something and that is the much laughable drama. Beyond these there is one and only one Lord Sri Venkateshwara. Beyond the universe He is there and that is where the liberation is.
