Philippines New Railway Systems: Under Construction Railways
These are the newest Railway system of the Philippines. Upon completion, the Philippine will improved its mass transit system and decongest the major roads of Metro Manila and its surrounding provinces and put Philippines in Global stage on transportation management system.
The Metro Manila Subway, is an under-construction underground rapid transit line in Metro Manila, Philippines. The 36-kilometer line, which will run north–south between Cities of Quezon, Pasig, Makati, Taguig, and Pasay, consists of 15 stations between the Quirino Highway and FTI stations. It will become the country's second direct airport rail link after the North–South Commuter Railway, with a branch line to Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
The Makati Intra-city Subway, is an 11-kilometer under-construction underground rapid transit line to be located in Makati, Metro Manila, that will link establishments across the city's business district. It will be built under a public-private partnership program between the Makati City Government and a private consortium, led by Philippine Infradev Holdings. Proponents of the subway are expected to begin construction on November 2020, and projects completion by the year 2025. The subway will cost 192 billion Philippine peso and is expected to accommodate 700,000 passengers daily. It will also have ten stations, with connections to the existing MRT Line 3, the Pasig River Ferry Service, and the approved Line 9 of Metro Manila Subway.
The Makati – BGC SkyTrain, is an Under-construction monorail line meant to serve the Guadalupe in Makati and Uptown Bonifacio, in Bonifacio Global City area in Taguig, Metro Manila.
The project consists of a 2 km public transit system between the vicinity of the Line 3 Guadalupe Station and Fort Bonifacio (Uptown Mall area). It generally follows the existing roads within the vicinity of J.P. Rizal Avenue, Lawton Avenue, 8th Avenue, and 38th Street.
The North–South Commuter Railway, also known as the Clark–Calamba Railway, is a 148 km urban rail transit line being constructed in Luzon. It will run from New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac to Calamba, Laguna with 36 stations, with historic stations to be restored.
The railway system is expected to cost ₱777.55 billion, making it one of the most expensive projects of the Build! Build! Build! Infrastructure Program. Partial operations will begin by 2021, and full operations is expected to begin by 2025.
The Metro Rail Transit Line 7, also known as MRT-7, is a rapid transit line under construction in the Philippines. When completed, the line will be 22.8 kilometers long, with 14 stations. The line runs in a northeast–southwest direction, beginning at San Jose del Monte, Bulacan up to the North Avenue Grand Central Station in North Avenue, Quezon City. The line will traverse Quezon City and Caloocan in Metro Manila and is envisioned to spur business and commerce at its inter-modal terminal station in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
Manila Light Rail Transit Line 1 or (LRT-1) Cavite Extension project will extend the existing 20.7km metro line serving the Metro Manila region in the Philippines by approximately 11.7km, it will extend the line from Baclaran to Bacoor City in the province of Cavite. It will traverse through the cities of Paranaque and Las Pinas, and will end at Barangay Ni-og, Bacoor. Once complete, the 11.7km extension will reduce the journey time between Baclaran and Bacoor from 70 minutes to approximately 25 minutes.
The Light Rail Transit Line 2, also known as LRT 2 East Extension, is currently under-construction which adds 4 kilometers of new line, starting from the eastern terminus of Santolan Station up to Masinag in Antipolo.
The Light Rail Transit 2 (LRT-2) East Extension project is now 92.14 percent complete, but its opening may happen in the second quarter of 2021, according to the Department of Transportation. However, two additional stations would be ready to accommodate riders within the first quarter of next year. These are Emerald station in front of Robinsons Metro East and Santa Lucia malls in Cainta town, Rizal province; and Masinag station, located before the Masinag Junction in Antipolo City, Rizal.
