Kokopelli 's Dance - Anasazi Meditation Flute

Die erste Aufnahme mit einer neuen Anasazi Flöte in G#. Die verwendete Flöte ist noch ein Prototyp und entstand in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Flötenspieler und -bauer Christopher Ciccone, dessen reiche Erfahrung mit verschiedenen "End-blown" oder "Rim-blown" Flöten hier zur vollen Gestaltung kam. Im Unterschied zu unseren "normalen" indianischen Siyotanka Flöten, hat die Anasazi Flöte ursprünglich kein Mundstück, sondern nur ein offenes Rohrende. Unser Modell hat zur besseren Spielbarkeit eine Kerbe zum Anblasen - ähnlich wie die japanische Shakuhachi oder die südamerikanische Quena.

Von den sogenannten Indianischen Flöten ist die Anasazi Flöte der ältere Flötentyp und auch anders gestimmt als die Flöten der Plains-Stämme. Die Bauweise und Stimmung orientiert sich an den Flötenfunden, die man in den 30er Jahren in einer Höhle in Arizona gemacht hat. Die Anasazi Flöte ist das Flötenmodell, das der geheimnisvollen Figur des Flöte spielenden Kokopelli und der verschwundenen Ancient Pueblo Kultur am nächsten steht. Daher auch die Inspiration zu den Bildern im Video und der Name des Stückes.
