Episode 221 of Love At First Scent

This was a YouTube Live broadcast streamed on Tuesday 19th October 2021. Unscripted. Unedited. Unrehearsed.

In this episode, I reviewed the complete collection of six scents from Akro: Haze, Malt, Smoke, Awake, Night and Dark. All were composed by Olivier Cresp.

Here's the blotter update...

- Of the three I sprayed during the episode, Smoke remains the most compelling and the most cohesive, keeping those coils twisting and turning right through to the drydown. Night is almost equally powerful, maintaining an impressive balance between the sweat (cumin) and the lipstick (violet-rose). Haze doesn't possess as intriguing a drydown, but perhaps that's to be expected from a composition reliant on more volatile green notes. Mind you, this isn't a criticism. All three are commendable pieces of work, and on their own, would be worth the price of the discovery set.
