Rusty Boot Jack - Restoration
In today's episode, I would like to show you how I renovated Boot Jack. I bought this item at an online auction. Yours, Veronika :)
If you have any information, you can share it with others on my Facebook page:

If you have any questions about the process, use machines or other things, ask me in the comments. I try to answer everyone and as soon as possible.
I'm sorry for my bad English, it's not my language.
I'm uploading videos about restoring mechanical things. I'm uploading videos about the restoration of old wooden things. I fix things as best I can. I am self-taught. Therefore, if some procedures are wrong, forgive me. Thank you.
If you like this renewal, share and submit :)

00:01 Performance
00:39 First, I cleaned the whole item of coarse rust with a steel brush.
01:10 Followed by sandpaper P180 and metal wool.
02:21 Since there was the rest of the old paint, I used a wire wheel.
03:25 We will adjust the overflows created by casting.
04:40 Where the steel brush didn't get, there were places where rust remained. That's why I soaked the item in a strong rust remover for 24 hours.
05:25 Mandatory break with Mona. :)
06:25 After 24 hours, I earned the item and rinsed it with water.
07:24 Patination followed. For that I used a rust remover with tannin which will make us a beautiful patina.
08:18 After drying, clean the remnants of tannin with metal wool so that tannin remains in our pores. Then we spray everything with colorless metal varnish.
08:54 Thanks Patreon partners.
09:03 Comparison before and after renovation.
09:40 Functional test
Thank you for watching. Yours, Veronica
