CF Seminar: 5am.earth - The Road to Onboarding 3 Million Farmers to Cardano

In this Cardano Seminar, we take a closer look at 5am.earth, an agricultural trust platform built on the Cardano blockchain designed to connect smallholder farmers to historically exclusive financial and market systems. Operated as a neutral foundation by a coalition of organizations, the project provides essential infrastructure including satellite intelligence, blockchain identity, and field implementation across South and Southeast Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America. The platform aims to overcome the high costs associated with fragmented agricultural data by democratizing access to trusted environmental and agronomic content.

We also touch on the project's massive scale and real-world impact, moving from initial pilot testing to over 15,000 on-chain transactions in just a few weeks. The seminar details the "phygital" model, which bridges the gap between sophisticated technology like decentralized IDs (DIDs) and on-the-ground field work led by trained agri-entrepreneurs. Joining the session are key members of the coalition, including Yoram (Cardano Ambassador), Rahul and Deepak from the Syngenta Foundation India, and representative from AI Quant and Ashpoint, who share insights into the journey of onboarding millions of farmers to a transparent, blockchain-backed ecosystem.
