You are welcome to join our family friendly chat, but keep in mind that there’s a community with rules already established. Please check them out below.

• The conversation here is trains, and please remember that it needs to come first. Off topic conversation such as music, sports, jokes, etc. is fine, but it must be kept in balance with on topic.
• Please keep conversations of personal issues (medical, domestic, legal, etc.) out of the chat; take it to messaging or email. Remember, you are sharing information with hundreds of people, not just those directly involved in the chat.
• Don’t ask to become a moderator. It’s earned. If we’re interested in your assistance, we will contact you.
• Just be nice, it’s amazing what happens when we’re all nice to each other.

THINGS THAT WILL GET YOU BANNED:

• Asking for subscriptions (subs)
• Being intentionally disruptive, creating arguments or any other jerk-like behavior

ABOUT THIS FEED:

The VRF cameras are hosted by the Gibson County Visitors and Tourism Bureau, visit their website for info: https://www.gibsoncountyin.org/princeton-train-depot/

There are 2 lines here. The closer track is CSX, specifically the CE&D Subdivision (of their Nashville Division), which was formerly the Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad (C&EI). The farther track is Norfolk Southern (NS), specifically the Southern East District (of their Illinois Division), which was formerly the Southern Railway (SOU or SR) line between St. Louis and Louisville.

Less than a mile south of here, the NS line crosses the CSX at a diamond as it swings to the east towards Louisville.

Virtual Railfan and our mods are not affiliated with train logs, they are maintained by volunteers. Please reach out to them outside of our chats for more detailed information or to discuss the mechanics of logging. Thanks to everyone who contributes faithfully to it!

CE&D Sub on AAR channels 94 & 84 (161.520 & 161.370) and Illinois Sub on AAR channels 9 (Dispatch-160.245), 56 (East Dist-160.950) & 48 (West Dist-160.830)

There are ATCS layouts for both lines, but only "legacy" for CSX (as it's no longer on radio code line) and no server coverage for NS, i.e., no monitoring available for either.

There are no Amtrak passenger trains here.

There’s no schedule for freight trains, but some of our more knowledgeable members will provide real-time information when it’s available. Please refrain from asking.
