The RAREST Indian Food You Never Heard Of

What is Ladakh food? I travelled to Zanskar valley in Northern India to find out and brought back a Ladakhi Chutegi (Skyu) recipe.

► Ladakhi Chutegi / Skyu recipe

200g whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp salt
110g water
1/2 tsp sesame oil

1 liter water
1 large red onion
1 small thumb of ginger, minced
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp paprika or cayenne pepper
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground mustard seeds
1 tsp ground fennel seeds
2 medium potatoes, diced
1 medium carrot, diced
1/2 turnip, diced
1 can tomatoes
1 Tbsp salt
1 handful baby spinach
1/2 medium tomato, diced
a small handful fresh peas or pea shoots
a few thin slices red onion
cilantro to taste
