A Variety of Two Color Heel Stitch Fabrics, stranded, checkerboard and eye of partridge
Here I demonstrate a stranded fabric, stranded checkerboard fabric as well as Eye of Partridge in two colors.
Directions for swatch:
Two color stranded sample
Row 1 (RS): *K1MC, k1CC; repeat from * until 1 st remains, k1MC.
Row 2: K1MC, *p1CC, p1MC; repeat until 2 sts remains, p1CC, k1MC.
Repeat these 2 rows 6 more times. Repeat row 1 once more.
With MC knit 1, purl until 1 st remans, catching the CC behind until 1 st remains, k1.
Two color checkerboard sample
Row 1 (RS): K1MC, *k1MC, k1CC; repeat from * until 2 sts remain, k2MC.
Row 2: K1MC, *p1CC, p1MC; repeat until 2 sts remain, p1CC, k1MC.
Repeat these 2 rows 6 more times. Repeat row 1 once more.
Next two rows (MC): K1, purl to last st, k1.
Two color Eye of Partridge sample
You will be starting this on a WS row.
Row 1(WS): K1MC, *p1CC, p1MC; repeat until 2 sts remain, p1CC, k1MC.
Row 2(RS): With main color only (carrying CC color behind): *K1, sl1; repeat from until 1 st remains, k1.
Row 3: K1MC, *p1MC, p1CC; repeat from * until 2 sts remain, p1MC, k1MC.
Row 4 with main color only (carrying CC color behind): K1, *k1, sl1; repeat from * until 2 sts remain, k2.
Repeat these 4 rows 2 more times. Work rows 1-3 once more. You will end after a WS row.
With MC, knit one row, BO. Weave in ends and block.
Compare your samples.
