Eye of Partridge Stitch in 1 & 2 colors worked flat and in the round
Isn't this a lovely stitch pattern? One of my favorites. I show you how to work it in one and two colors flat and also one and two colors in the round. Let me know if you have seen this before or know it by another name.
Directions:
Eye of Partridge in One Color worked flat worked over an odd number of stitches with garter selvedge.
Row 1(RS): *K1, sl1 wyib; repeat from * until 1 st remains, k1.
Row 2: K1, p until 1 st remains, k1.
Row 3: K1 *k1, sl1 wyib; repeat from * until 2 sts remain k2
Row 4: Repeat row 2.
Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.
Two color Eye of Partridge worked flat, over an odd number of stitches with a garter selvedge. MC = Main Color, CC = Contrast Color
Row 1(WS): K1MC, *p1CC, p1MC; repeat until 2 sts remain, p1CC, k1MC.
Row 2(RS): With main color only (carrying CC color behind): *K1, sl1; repeat from until 1 st remains, k1.
Row 3: K1MC, *p1MC, p1CC; repeat from * until 2 sts remain, p1MC, k1MC.
Row 4 with main color only (carrying CC color behind): K1, *k1, sl1; repeat from * until 2 sts remain, k2.
Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.
One color Eye of Partridge in the round worked over an even number of stitches.
Rnd 1: *K1, sl1; repeat to end of round
Rnd 2: Knit to end of round.
Rnd 3: *Sl1, k1; repeat to end of round.
Rnd 4: Repeat rnd 2.
Repeat these 4 rounds for pattern.
Two color Eye of Partridge in the round worked over an even number of stitches.
Rnd 1: *K1MC, k1CC; repeat to end of round.
Rnd 2: *K1MC, sl1; repeat to end of round.
Rnd 3: * K1CC, k1MC; repeat to end of round.
Rnd 4: *Sl1, k1MC; repeat to end of round.
Repeat these 4 rounds for pattern.
